This spreadsheet includes the headline estimates of earnings growth based on the Monthly Wages and Salaries Survey. Provides files to download data as it existed for this dataset on previous dates. Statistics are most often revised for 1 of 2 reasons: Indices were published two months in arrears so the last index that was a National Statistic was that for October 2009 and the final index ever published was for July 2010. The Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) measure was accredited as a National Statistic in January 2010 and, consequently, it replaced the National Average Earnings Index as the headline measure of earnings growth in the UK. In the United Kingdom, the average earnings index (AEI) was an indicator of inflationary pressures emanating from the labour market.
